What things do you do that keep you cool?? Do you go other places? Stay home?
What kind of things do you at home to keep the house from getting to hot (besides running the AC)?? Share your summer time tips and tricks....

Lucky you! It's been FREEZING here... low 60s at best with a constant drizzle for the last three days...
I'm big on cooling the house in the evening/night and closing up during the day trying to keep the cooler air inside. I don't have AC, so my techniques are the best I can do... In the evening I put fans pointing OUT in the upstairs window and open the downstairs windows... The theory being you draw the hot air out and the cool air comes in... I may also put fans downstairs pointing in when I can catch a breeze... This works especially good on a single bedroom with 2 windows. Make sure you close the door to create a negative in the room with the fan you force the cooler air in the other window... Ceiling fans are also helpful for keeping the air moving... I'm also big on making sure that the shades are down when the sun is shining its brightest... Take a hot shower... after standing under 100 degree water for 15 minutes, a 90 degree room feels somewhat refreshing... LOL |

Those are all good tips. Getting our AC fixed was the best $700 we've spent this year!! lol! We still have the ceiling fans, stand up fans and blinds drawn from about 1pm on. The back of our house gets all the afternoon and evening sun. You've all seen pic's of my house so you know how many windows I have.... and we live in that part of the house the most. It get REALLY hot in that family room without those blinds closed!! And that window above the stairs...?? Just getting a blind on that thing last year has kept the house 20 degress cooler in the summer!

We had a big thunder storm blow through last night. Knocked the temp down a bit. It's still going to be like 96 degrees today tho... yuck!

It's still cold and clammy here... 58... Tomorrow is supposed to be a major change... high 80s and Sun... Not as hot as the upper mid west, but MUCH better
than it's been this week... I'm SO looking forward to it! THey said on the news yesterday that we've only had THREE days this month that were
mostly sun... The weird thing is we haven't had record rain either...

Really? No record rain??
It's storming here again tonight. Very weird. It was about 102 (on my last check) and now it's storming....

Please do! It's been so hot lately. I just stay inside. Not much you can do outside when it's this hot. It's 100 right now and will probably be
close 105 by dinner time. Ugh...
